ACCT 526: Global Accounting Experience provides MAcc and MBT students with international and domestic experiential learning opportunities. The course grew out of the need for accounting professionals to understand cross-border transactions. Its purpose is to move beyond textbooks and classroom discussion to engage in the real-world issues students will encounter as they pursue careers in public accounting or industry.
Global Accounting Experience examines accounting, legal and tax environments, economic and political systems and cultural differences with a global view of the United States and China. After two months of in-depth coursework covering cross-border transactions, as well as multinational corporations, international financial markets and accounting, auditing and tax practices, students travel to China, visiting both Shanghai and Beijing.
