What are your areas of interest at USC and Marshall?
Finance, Entrepreneurship, Psychology
What made you choose to attend USC Marshall?
I chose to attend USC Marshall because of the opportunities it would provide for me during college and in the years after. Through growing up in Orange County, I was very familiar with USC and how influential the School of Business was. In being accepted my senior year of high school, it was a no-brainer to accept and become a Trojan!
What advice do you wish you had known while applying to college?
Be yourself! A lot of students throughout high school try to get involved with every club, team, or organization as possible to fill out their college applications. At the end of the day, colleges want to know that you are passionate about your favorite area and have dedicated a lot of time and energy to that! So don't overthink what to get involved with when you're in high school. Just do what you love and let that be represented on your college applications/essays!
What are your USC activities/general hobbies?
At USC I am involved in two main orgs: Marshall Student Ambassadors (MSA) and USC Christian Challenge. Within MSA, I serve as the VP of External Programming. MSA is a group of Marshall students who help prospective students and their families in make the decision to come to USC. For USC Challenge, we are one of the Christian groups on campus which focuses and helps students establish, grow, and deepen their personal relationship with Jesus!
Why do you love Los Angeles?
I love Los Angeles because it provides such a diverse and unique experience that not a lot of places do! Not everywhere can you turn your head and find people of all different backgrounds, ethnicities, and upbringings. There are also a plethora of things to do that you can never get tired of. Places like the Griffith Observatory, Grand Central Market, Santa Monica, the Getty, the Hollywood Sign, and Hollywood Blvd. are all places to see if you have never tried already!
What global experiences have you taken part in at USC? Please list all Marshall International Trips you have attended, include program name(s) and location(s)
What internship/employment opportunities have you taken advantage of at Marshall?
For the last few years I have been working as a College Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual in Downtown, Los Angeles. I got involved with the program after meeting a USC alum, Soho Fini, at the Marshall Recruiter Reception my sophomore year. I have been able to help many families around California and the United States get going on their personal financial planning. A majority of my clients are either in the tech, educational, or ministerial space!
What is your favorite USC Marshall Class and why?
My favorite Marshall class is BUAD 302 with Professor Stacy Geck! The class revolved around different ways to communicate in business - from job interviews, to public speaking presentations, to articulating items on your resume. You also take a lot of time to complete personal assessment tests to understand your best communication styles to further understand how you best communicate! In my opinion, it is the most practical and applicable class in Marshall and I would definitely take it again!
