Trojan Equity Fund (TEF) Portfolio Managers
Nick Conner graduated from Texas A&M University in 2017 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to attending Marshall, he worked in upstream oil and gas for four years with Schlumberger. The first two years were spent in engineering, quality, operations, and planning. The last two years were in project management working on process improvement, large scale customer delivery, and product development. Nick aspires to solve higher-level strategic issues for firms and will be working for a consulting firm this Summer. In his spare time, Nick enjoys travelling, baseball (The Houston Astros), and watching the latest movies and shows.
Anthony Van Eaton
Anthony Van Eaton graduated from Gonzaga University in 2015 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. After college Anthony began his career as a Nuclear Engineer for the United States Navy. He later transitioned into Real Estate Finance where he worked as an Asset Manager for Civic Financial Services. Anthony’s interest in investing comes from his experience in the Financial Services industry and starting his own real estate portfolio. This summer Anthony will be working for Credit Suisse as an Investment Banking Associate. In his spare time, Anthony enjoys beach volleyball, golfing, skiing, and college football.
Peter Martin graduated from the University of Rochester in 2018 with a B.S. in Business, with a Finance concentration, and a minor in Computer Science. He went on to work at Vectra Capital, a proprietary commodity trading firm, in New York City for four years as the Head Trader on the Natural Gas Liquids desk. Peter is a former NCAA Division III Soccer player and currently plays for the USC affiliated team, SC Trojans FC. He has a passion for financial markets and aspires to continue his career in a market-facing role.
Hongmei (Ivy) Qin
Hongmei (Ivy) Qin graduated from Communication University of China in 2016 with B.B.A in Accounting. After college, Hongmei joined Ericsson as a cost center analyst, providing insights on cost control and optimization. Then she came to an online EdTech firm (a company went IPO in NASDAQ in 2017) and worked as a data analyst leader, initiating new commission plan to incentivize salesforce and generate more revenue. She then pivoted into corporate general management and joined a German manufacturing company, monitored company operation efficiency, assisted in strategy setting, and addressed business problem. After working in various corporations for five years, she has developed predilection for investment management and decided to pursue MBA so that she can pivot into investment and asset management industry. In her spare time, she loves to read, go hiking, and play volleyball.
